Hemp- is a botanical classification of Cannabis sativa cultivars grown for industrial or therapeutic purposes. It can be used to produce a variety of items. Hemp, like bamboo, is one of the world’s fastest growing plants. It was also among the earliest plants, 50,000 years ago, to be spun into usable fiber, paper, rope, textiles, clothes, biodegradable plastics, paint, insulation, bio fuel, food, and animal feed are just a few of the commercial products that may be made from it.
Hemp takes in high amounts of carbon dioxide. For every ton of hemp grown, 1.6 tons of carbon is removed from the atmosphere. One hectare of densely-grown hemp may absorb 22 tons of carbon dioxide, according to various scientific papers. In combination with the ability to generate two crops each year, hemp farmed on one hectare can absorb 44 tons of CO2 per year.
